Sonoma Police received a report on Sept. 6 that, beginning at age 7, a child was molested over a 3 year period in the city of Sonoma, a crime that dates back to 2013, according to Sonoma Police Sgt. Mike Baraz.

The report was sent to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault unit for further investigation. Information about the alleged suspect and nature of the crimes could not be discussed as the case is under investigation, Baraz said.

A known suspect took a Marigold cannabis oil cartridge and left SPARC cannabis dispensary without paying on Aug. 5 at 1:54 p.m. along the 19300 block of Sonoma Highway, according to Baraz.

SPARC notified police of the theft Aug. 8 but declined to prosecute due to the low value of the cannabis cartridge (which retailed at approximately $44), Baraz said.

A suspect stole a catalytic converter from a 1999 Range Rover sometime between Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. along the 700 block of Second Street East.

The victim first reported the crime to Sonoma police Sept. 6. The catalytic converter is estimated to cost $2,000.

Another catalytic converter was stolen from a 2003 Ford F-250 along the 700 block of Lasuen Street between Aug. 16 and when it was reported to police Sept. 9, Baraz said.

The catalytic converter is estimated to cost $3,000.

Unknown suspects cut latches to an exterior compressor shed and cut electrical wires once inside the shed located along the 600 block Third Street West overnight between Sept. 12 and Sept. 13, according to Baraz.

The motive for the alleged vandalism remains unclear base upon observations from the scene, Baraz said. And police reclassified the crime as a vandalism when they learned no items from the shed were taken, only damaged. The cost to repair is estimated to be $100.

Baraz said authorities are currently reviewing Ring camera footage to identify the suspects.
